Epping West GO Workshop on 10 August

我们学校和澳洲围棋协会将于8月10日在Epping West 小学推出围棋工作坊- NSW Epping West Chinese School and Australian GO Association present a junior GO workshop on Sunday 10 August 2025 at B Block of Epping West Public School.

Date: Sunday 10 August 2025 10:00 to 15:00 with 30 minutes’ lunch break

Venue: Epping West Public School B Block (enter via Teacher Car Park)

Cost: $90, The day will consist of a mixture of lessons, games, exercises and a chance to beat a teacher in the simul games at the end. 费用每人$90, 包括上课，游戏，练习和小型竞赛

Teacher（s): An Younggil 8P and other qualified teachers subject to registration number 老师是我们围棋班老师-职业八段的安老师。我们将根据报名人数另外安排有资质的老师上课。

Students: The Go workshop is for people under 16 who are beginning their Go journey – all players are expected to be double digit kyu players (that means from beginner to 10 kyu).

Objective: This workshop aims to provide students who are between beginner to 10kyu with practical knowlege and skills that are necessary to improve their GO playing skills. The program will adjust based on the actual skills of students registered.

Event Timetable

10:00-10:10 Welcome

10:10-12:00 Groups learning sessions. Each session has approx 30 minutes and three times with three teachers. 4-5 students in a group, ideally.

12:00-12:30 lunch break

12:30-14:30 Tournament- The students will play 4-5 games with a Swiss League system.

14:45-15:00 Closing ceremony

There will be a short quiz during the break and students will be awarded proficiency certificates. Students will receive self-study materials so they can continue their study during breaks or when they have completed other activities.

  • Strategic concepts and practices
  • Territory, walls and extensions
  • Life and death
  • Ladder, Ko and Seki
  • Attack and defence
  • End game & counting
