Welcome back to the start of a new year, the 8th year of Epping West Chinese School. I hope that all families enjoyed a refreshing break, and the students are ready for a new journey.
Thank you for the understanding and support during the first two weeks of challenges. Only two refunds were requested. Our temporal arrangement was well accommodated. We have settled in the new classrooms BR10 and CR 2 (refer to the map) from Monday 13 February.
2023年的第一学期欢迎大家，这是我们学校的第八年头。本人希望家长们都享受了一个惬意轻松的假期，学生们都做好了开学准备。
非常感谢在前两周老师和家长们的体谅和支持，学校只收到两个家庭的退款申请。我们临时的安置场所也发挥了重要作用。从2月13日我们将使用学校的BR10 和CR2 课室, 课室位置参看附图。

We are a non-for-profit legal entity, independent from political party, religion, and any other commercial business nor organisations. We aim to deliver excellent Chinese lessons to local community. We are a registered Creative Kids Voucher provider （Language and Cultural experience）.

More than 85% teachers and teacher assistants are formed by existing or then Epping West Public School volunteer parents. Every teaching team member is verified in Working with Children check system. Pathway for professional and personal growth will be offered to the right candidate.

Responsibilities of Teachers and Parents:

Deliver lesson plan and check homework
Ensure the safety of students,
Maintain classroom tidiness and cleanness,
Look after school properties,
Schedule parents’ roster when applicable.
Teacher Assistant and parents on duty provide support and assistance to teachers.
老师职责包括授课、检查家庭作业、维持学生课堂纪律、维护课室的整洁、爱护公物和安排家长值日。每一个学生家庭的父母每学期轮值一次，助教和值日家长主要协助老师从课室接低年级的学生， 协助老师维护课堂纪律和爱护公物，确保学生安全。请参考详细的规则。
The responsibilities of parents:
Assist once a term,
Inform day school -teacher that your child has Chinese class,
Remind child(ren) to finish homework,
Remind child (ren) to bring textbook, exercise book, snack etc.
Remind child (ren) to assembly in front of Canteen after class,
Indicate child name and class in class group,
Check class group message regularly.
家长的职责主要是每学期值日一次，书面通知日间老师自己孩子在某一天有中文课，提醒学生完成家庭作业，提醒孩子带课本和练习册以及课间餐，提醒孩子下课后到老师指定的地方集合，定期查看班群的信息。
We value our privacy. Selected class photos/video is to publish on our own website or yearbook only, with parents’ consent. All information in class group is not to be forwarded nor post in social media.
我们保护你和学生的个人信息。课堂照片/视频在得到家长的同意后也只在我们的学校网站和年报选择性公开。家长不能把班群的信息转发和在社交媒体发布。
All parents are required to indicate their child/ren name and class in the group alias, so that the teacher can identify and verify the final student list. This can avoid any unauthorised access and facilitate transparent communications.
所有的家长在班群需要备注学生的名字和班级，以便老师确认身份和确保最后的学生名单，防止非授权的进入和营造透明的交流。
Orientation of New Students
All parents of new students are strongly recommended to visit our website www.eppingwestchineseschool.nsw.edu.au for more information. Please contact us via Wechat or email eppingwestchineseschool@outlook.com. Once we receive the enrolment form and tuition fee, we will finalise the enrolment. An interview might be arranged when applicable.

所有的新生家长请到我们的网站www.eppingwestchineseschool.nsw.edu.au查阅详情。我们一般使用微信班群和邮件联系家长。请电邮eppingwestchineseschool@outlook.com 查询。在必要的情况下学校会进行面试。申请表格和学费收到以后我们会确定位置。
Drop off and Pick-up
Weekday Class:
Unless advised otherwise, we collect the kindergarten and new Year one students from their mainstream classroom after class. Year 1 and above students are encouraged to meet the teachers in front of the canteen.
Parents are required to arrive no later than 5:15pm to collect their child/ren from Gate 2.
Weekend Class:
Parents are expected to drop off their child/ren 5 minutes before the lesson time at Gate 2 and collect their child/ren on time from Gate 2.
Weekend students are suggested to go to bathroom before home departure.
学生接送
周中学前和1年级新生下课后在课室等待我们的老师来接。1年级的学生熟悉以后鼓励自行到餐厅礼堂和老师会合。周中班的家长需要书面通知日间老师自己的小孩在某一日在指定的课室上中文班。课室的分配在班群和网站公布。家长需要在下课后5分钟内从2号门接走学生。
周末班的家长需要在上课前5分钟把学生送到2号门，下课后准时从2号门接走小孩。
