Principal’s message to 2025 Term 1

Dear Parents and Students,

I hope that the holiday period has provided the opportunity to spend time with family and friends, as well as some time for relaxation. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to school on Thursday 6 February. Trust that you are well rested and ready to begin the year ahead. 

I would like to share some updates and information that will assist you as we commence a new school year.

新年好，相信大家都度过了一个愉快的假期，整装待发迎接新学年的开始。开学伊始，我们给大家一些温馨提示：

RETURN TO SCHOOL

Term 1 commencement for students will be staggered as follows:

  • Wednesday, 5 February, C3WO online lesson commences
  • Thursday, 6 February, C4TC, C4TK and E4TA commence
  • Friday, 7 February, C5FB, C5FC, C5FK , E5FL, and E5FT commerce
  • Saturday, 8 February, C6SC, C6SL1, C6SL2 and C6SL3 commerce
  • Monday, 10 February, C1MN and C1MJ commerce
  • Tuesday, 11 February, C2TK, C2TC , C2TW and E2TL1commerce
  • Wednesday, 12 February, C3WC and C3WN commerce

Our normal weekday lesson time is 3:15 to 5:15pm, Saturday is 1:00pm to 6:00pm, unless advised otherwise.  Monday, Wednesday evening (5:30pm onwards) and Saturday afternoon is open to secondary students.

以上是各班开学时间，上课时间一般是周中下午3:15 到5:15，周六1点半到六点，另有安排的除外。

欢迎已经离校的学生参加其他时间的中文课程，目前向中学生开放的有周一，周三晚上和周六下午。

We particularly look forward to welcoming our new students on Monday 10 February. Teacher with red vest will greet you at key assembly point-in front of canteen, to ensure you arrive safely to where you need to be. The assembly point will be updated once the classrooms are assigned by the school.

Parents should provide written notice to day-school teachers that your child(ren) attend Chinese school on the lesson day.  我们特别期待2月10日周一迎接第一批新生，穿着红外套的老师会在餐厅前面等你们并带着你们去新课室。家长需要告知日间学校老师自己小孩在特定一天来中文学校上课，这个课程涵盖在我们这里注册缴费的课程。

The program on Friday 7 February and Monday 10 February for new students has a focus on building connections and establishing expectation to ensure a successful year ahead. From 6 February to 12 February would be the theme of Chinese New Year week.  

我们在7和10号为新学生准备互相认识的课程，2月6-12号是中国新年周。

ATTENDANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Students are expected to be punctual to classroom.
  • Students are expected to attend at least 9 lessons each term. One make-up lesson is allowed per term.
  • Parents should notify the teacher and/or principal with absence or early departure, with an explanation.
  • Parents should collect their child(ren) on time from classroom. In the first two weeks, all lessons will be held at 2 Downing streets until classrooms are assigned by Epping West Public School.

学生请准时到达课室，每学期至少参加9次课，每学期允许一次补课。如学生缺勤或者早退，家长需要在家长群通知老师或者校长。家长需要准时接学生。在学校课室没有落实之前，所有课程都在2 Downing Street进行。

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Opportunities to participate in Chinese Cultural Immersion Holiday camps
  • Opportunities to be nominated for the Minister’s Award
  • Eligible students to be awarded with Certificate of Learning by DoE
  • Opportunities to perform on cultural festivals, School Spectaculars and Chinese Eisteddfod
  • Opportunities to compete in Inter- Schools Badminton Tournament
  • Opportunities to sit HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) locally
  • Opportunities to receive support on HSC and homework
  • Opportunities to community networking

我们除了中文学习，还为同学们提供包括但不限于冬/夏令营机会，获颁部长奖和教育都颁发的证书，参与文化汇演和中文朗诵比赛，参加中小学校际比赛和高校羽毛球比赛，就近参加汉语等级考试，获得高考和家庭作业辅导，和社区联络等活动。

SAFETY

Students will follow teachers’ instructions for safety. Always remain within the bounds. Let teachers know if you have to leave the classroom during lesson time. Stay within the boundary. Please ensure you are aware of the rules of school including excursion.

Kindy parents are required to assist once a term.

安全是我们的首要任务。学生必须熟悉校内校外活动的纪律，遵循老师的指引，只在指定范围内活动。低龄学生家长每学期需要值日一次。

Bags and personal items

  • School bags must be placed outside classroom. No food is to be consumed in the classroom.  All your personal items must be placed inside your school bag when not in use.  Ipad must NOT use around the school grounds during recess.
  • All students should NOT touch classroom properties, keep desk and classroom clean and tidy before departure
  • Students should check their own personal items before departure

书包放在课室外面，教室内严禁吃东西。个人物品不在用的时候必须留在自己的书包里。课间学生严禁使用Ipad.

学生不能触碰课室里的物品，离开前确保桌面和课室的整洁，和检查个人物品

STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP

No matter which gate you access, pleases bear in mind that it is a shared zone, you must maintain a speed limit of 10km/hour when driving through the carpark.

无论家长从哪一个门进来，请记住这是公共区域，停车场的车速 限制在10公里/小时
